Special Monitoring Mission of the OSCE in Ukraine announced the possibility of setting 24-7 surveillance in the area of Shyrokine, the village near Mariupol, to ensure the peace and quiet order, Joinfo.ua informs referring to the statement of the Mission.
The OSCE wants to establish a permanent observation point for better control over the situation in Shyrokine and reduction of mistrust between the parties to the conflict to each other.
"Currently, the SMM is studying the safety aspects and logistical needs to establish a round-the-clock presence," the document says.
According to observers, it must demonstrate commitment of the mission to the process of establishing ceasefire between the parties of the conflict and the civilian population.
It should be noted that the recent presence of the OSCE Mission in Shyrokine has been characterized by a kind of pledge of silence. Once the observers leave the village, the militants open fire on the positions of the ATO forces.
