According to Joinfo.ua, Shoygu made such a statement at a meeting with the Minister of Defence of South Africa Nosivive Mapisa-Nqakula, who arrived in Russia for the IV Moscow conference on international security.
"We highly appreciate the prospects for our cooperation … in the military sphere. In addition, of course, we have very good potential in the field of military education and military-technical cooperation," said Shoygu.
Shoygu confirmed that South Africa and Russia were planning to conduct joint scientific and technological tests, joint research and development work.
"The main thing is a quick transformation of existing arrangements into real projects. I am confident that the results achieved in recent years, the results of our military cooperation will be further developed," concluded Shoygu.
