According to him, Sergatskova made for Ukraine more than many Ukrainians, Joinfo.ua reports. "Journalist Yekaterina Sergatskova is a citizen of Ukraine. It's nice when in the time of war for Ukrainian independence such Russians are on the same front line with us. After all, Yekaterina did for Ukraine in Crimea and Donetsk more than many Ukrainians," said Tsegolko.

Sergatskova was born in Russia, lived in Crimea, she wrote for Ukrayinska Pravda, Focus, ArtUkraine, Ukrainian Esquire, Russian editions of Colta.ru, Snob.ru. In March 2014, she launched a channel covering the events in Crimea called "Crimea. As it is" on the Divan.TV platform.

She covered the events in eastern Ukraine from both sides of the conflict. She wrote a chronology of events for bilingual edition about Euromaidan. In March 2015, she released a book entitled "War on three letters."
