JCCC and OSCE visit Shyrokine and come to conclusion: village needs demilitarization

The Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination and stabilization of parties' demarcation line (JCCC) and the OSCE visited Shyrokine and discussed the creation of a demilitarized zone.

The representatives of the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination and stabilization of parties' demarcation line (JCCC) carried out a working visit to one of the hottest spots of the Donetsk region – to the Shyrokine village, Joinfo.ua reports referring to the press center of the ATO.

Together with the inspection team of the Special monitoring mission of the OSCE and representatives of the Russian part of the JCCC, the officers visited the area, which has recently been under fire. The on-site study allowed to identify practical steps for unconditional compliance with the ceasefire by the parties.

The experts examined the current situation regarding withdrawal of heavy weapons, discussed demining of the territory near the places of compact residence of the civilian population, unrestricted inspection by representatives of the OSCE SMM and the like.

After working visit the parties discussed the proposal to demilitarize Shyrokine and its surrounding areas prepared by the Deputy Head of the OSCE SMM Alexander Hug.
