"The Senate of the Czech Republic accepted the petition for resignation of Zeman. 10,000 signatures collected are sufficient to start impeachment proceedings," informed the blogger Rustem Adagamov.
Last month, more than 11,000 activists handed a petition to the Senate, requesting to consider the issue regarding resignation of the Czech president. The Czechs accused Zeman of conducting pro-Russian foreign policy, betraying the interests of his native country, and insulting its rightful name on the world stage.
According to Michal Majzner, the author of the appeal, states that Russian propaganda is actively using statements by Milos Zeman, and it is not consistent with the Constitution and is a threat to national security.
It should be noted that Zeman earned the reputation of a supporter and fan of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In particular, he was going to go to Putin's May 9 parade in Moscow, at the time, when almost all the world leaders ignore the event.
