LPR authorities offer Kyiv to hold local elections on November 2

The LPR authorities proposed to hold local elections in the occupied territory of the Luhansk region on November 2, 2015.

The LPR authorities propose to hold local elections in the occupied territory of the Luhansk region on November 2, 2015, said Oleg Akimov, a member of the LPR Council, Joinfo.ua reports citing local media.

"We propose to determine the November 2, 2015 as the date for the local elections on the territory of our republics (LPR and DPR – Ed.). The year before that date, on November 2, 2014, we held the elections of the head of the republic and the deputies to the People's Council, which took place without any violations, in the presence of international observers, in compliance with all the principles of democracy," said the self-constituted politician.

The initiative group for the elections included seven "deputies" of the "People's Council of the LPR." Akimov said that representatives of the LPR were ready to discuss the election and expressed "hope for a speedy response from Kyiv."
