NATO gives Putin a choice: either friendship or isolation

Russian President Vladimir Putin faces a choice: either cooperation with the West, or further deepening of confrontation and isolation. This opinion was expressed by the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

According to him, the reality of the post-Cold War showed that all parties are winners when they are collaborating, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.

"Putin does not serve for Russia. If he served, he would chose cooperation. He still can choose: either cooperation or further confrontation and deepening of isolation," said Stoltenberg.

He also stresses that if countries cooperate, they do not see the fact that some of the states chooses to join the EU or NATO as a threat.

In addition, the NATO Secretary General is sure that the West is not divided on the issue of sanctions against Russia. "This has been said from the start of discussions about sanctions. But we were able to bring them in, adopt, and implement. I think someone confuses discussion and decision-making process with blocking and dividing within the EU and NATO," said the NATO Secretary General.
