After annexation, the situation in Crimea excludes the entry of foreign ships to the ports of the peninsula, but some watercrafts ignore the ban.

A gas tanker under Italian flag arrives in port of Crimea

After imposition of sanctions, the situation in Crimea precludes an entry of foreign vessels into the ports of the peninsula. However, there are noted repeated violations of Western sanctions, Joinfo.ua reports.

According to the local media, yesterday, SYN MAIA vessel with Italian flag arrived to the Kerch Sea Fish Port.

The Public Registry reports that before that, 97-meter long and 15-meter wide SYN MAIA tanker touched at the Turkish port of Istanbul.

The ship is a gas carrier, which can carry dangerous goods.

This is not the first time when a foreign vessel arrives to the port of Kerch after annexation of the Crimean peninsula despite the prohibitions of the Western sanctions. At the beginning of May in Kerch port there were recorded the Panama TALA tanker, Alexander Tkachenko ferry, formerly known as Robur, and a foreign ship GREEN LIGHT.

In response to such violations of sanctions, Ukrainian experts and activists launched the Black List project, which publishes every ship and aircraft illegally appearing in Crimea online.
