77-year-old Mariya Savchenko, the mother of Ukrainian pilot detained in the Moscow prison, wrote a letter to the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and asked her for support, the DW news agency reports.
According to the agency, March 23, in Berlin opened an exhibition devoted to Nadiya Savchenko. Together with Nadiya's sister and lawyer, Mariya Savchenko attended the event. She met with representatives of the German Foreign Ministry and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag and thanked them for already provided support.
The exhibition is held in the museum of the Berlin Wall. Among the exhibits, in particular, there are presented her portrait made on a fragment of the Berlin Wall, as well as her photos taken during military service.
It should be recalled that Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko promised to stop the hunger strike only when her restraint is changed to house arrest.
