Speaking at a press conference after a trilateral meeting with the leaders of Belarus and Kazakhstan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that it was time to create a single monetary union within the EEU. It was reported by the journalists attending the meeting, Joinfo.ua reports.

Putin expressed this readiness to create a monetary union after Lukashenko and Nazarbayev began to hinting at the crisis in the "commonwealth" due to the Russian oil falling in price and depreciating ruble.

And Putin answered: it's time to create a single currency union.
