The British army began to train the soldiers of the Ukrainian army. 35 military trainers from the UK have already started their work in Mykolaiv, and will spend two months in Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to BBC.
The decision to send the military advisers and trainers to Ukraine was announced by British Prime Minister David Cameron last week.
According to the head of the British government, the military will provide the Ukrainian colleagues with medical, logistics, intelligence knowledge and share the skills of conducting infantry combat operations.
This is not the first case of outbreak of hostilities in the Donbas, when other states initiate a long-term military training program in Ukraine.
In the near future, a few more troops from Britain are expected to come in Ukraine. According to Cameron, it will be about 75 people.
In addition, the British government supplies the Ukrainian Armed Forces with non-lethal aid – first aid kits, night vision devices, and sleeping bags.
Earlier, U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden promised that the first batch of military vehicles for enhancing defense capability of Ukraine would be sent to Ukraine by the end of March and soon military instructors from the U.S. Army would train the Ukrainian military.
