At a briefing, Minister of Justice Pavlo Petrenko stated that an application to the ECHR had already entered the stage of communication. "Until the end of March Russia has to submit its explanations. Of course, they will attempt to delay this deadline," said the Minister, Joinfo.ua reports.

Petrenko believes that the statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Russian film "Crimea. Way Home" may be considered as evidence. He added that Ukraine intended to send a copy of this film to the ECHR.

The Minister also announced two other claims of Ukraine to the European Court, which are still at the stage of gathering evidence. However, in his opinion, the Ukrainian claims will not be adjudicated quickly, given the large amount of material they contain.

It should be recalled that March 15, 2015 the TV channel Russia-1 presented the movie "Crimea. Way Home". In the two-hour documentary, the Russian leader Vladimir Putin and other persons involved in the year-old events on the peninsula tell about how Crimea was transferred under the control of Moscow.
