Yatsenyuk orders to put Armed Forces of Ukraine on full combat alert

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk says that the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to be put on full combat alert since the militants and Russian forces are not going to back down.

At the meeting of the State Commission for Emergencies, Arseniy Yatsenyuk reported that the situation in the country was difficult. And since the Russian and pro-Russian rebels are not going to retreat at this stage, responsibility and organization are required, Joinfo.ua reports.

"This requires the Defense Ministry and the General Staff to put Armed Forces of Ukraine on full combat alert. This requires the State Service for Emergencies and every manager to ensure the work on civil protection of citizens. This requires the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the Security Service, and the entire law enforcement system to fight against terrorism and prosecution of anyone, who encroaches on the Ukrainians and Ukrainian independence. It requires commitment and discipline," said Yatsenyuk.

At the same time Yatsenyuk ordered to submit to the government the issue of responsibility of the officials, who are guilty of dereliction of orders on civil protection of the citizens and strengthening the fight against the terrorist threat.

"To submit to the Secretariat of the Cabinet the issue of disciplinary responsibility of the officials responsible for non-fulfillment of the government orders on civil protection of the citizens and strengthening the fight against the terrorist threat. Prior to dismissal from their positions," he said.
