Ukrainian pilot, MP and member of the PACE Nadiya Savchenko is gradually on the mend after a long hunger strike and she has already gained 2 kilograms. It was stated by Natalia Kharchenko, the chief freelance Gastroenterology specialist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, during the briefing, Joinfo.ua reports.
"We can give only general description of her state, because there is a notion of medical confidentiality and consent of a patient. We can characterize the state (of Savchenko) as relatively satisfactory. At the moment of our conversation, Nadiya had no complaints. Her weight has increased by two kilos. But at any moment the situation can change," said Kharchenko.
Savchenko's mother says that "most likely" Nadiya is not given hormones.
"Those reactions, we drew the attention of doctors to, might have been the consequences of Nadiya coming out of a hunger strike too actively… We corrected the menu she receives and apportioned the doses over days. If she does as we recommend, if Nadiya eats, everything will be fine," said Kharchenko.
