President Poroshenko proposes to solve problem with ‘special status’ of Donbas

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko registered a draft resolution on definying Donetsk and Luhansk the regions with a special order of the local government.

In the Verkhovna Rada, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko registered a draft resolution on definying individual regions of Donetsk and Luhansk as regions with a special order of the local government. The corresponding draft bill No 2374 dated March 14, 2015 is published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports.

"Certain regions, cities, towns, and villages of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where, according to the Law of Ukraine "On special order of local government in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions" is temporarily introduced a special procedure of local government, include the areas or parts of the cities, towns, and villages, located in the areas between the state border of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, the water's edge of the Azov Sea and the line defined by the supplements to the corresponding Minsk memorandum dated September 19, 2014," the draft resolution states.

It is planned that the decision will come in force from the date of its publication.
