On Monday, March 16, Frank-Walter Steinmeier urged Ukraine to implement the agreements signed in Minsk and further reforms in full. He added that the Kyiv authorities can count on the "full support" of Germany, the DW news agency reports.
German Foreign Minister also reminded the Ukrainian leadership that the country needs to continue its fight against widespread corruption and take steps to improve the administrative system.
According to DW, before the visit of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to Berlin, the head of the German Foreign Ministry said that the settlement of the crisis in the Donbas should not include any concessions. According to Steinmeier, the ceasefire in the east of Ukraine remains "fragile", but it is observed in most conflict zones. However, the German diplomat said that still there was a progress in the issue of withdrawal of heavy weapons from the line of contact between the warring parties.
