She noted that the EU was seeking to achieve peace in Ukraine through negotiations, and with the help of sanctions, if necessary, Joinfo.ua reports referring to Polskie Radio.
Kopacz underlined that any peace is better than any war.
"Therefore, the EU's position is that the sanctions imposed against Russia will remain in force, the economic sanctions that can be imposed – more painful ones – will be imposed and are already being prepared by the European Commission, and they are likely to be introduced unanimously if the conditions of ceasefire are not fulfilled," said Kopacz.
Polish Prime Minister added that the whole European Union should monitor the observance of the Minsk agreements. She is convinced that the solidarity of the EU's position will lead to establishment of peace. Kopacz also said that the Minsk agreements were gradually being put into effect.
French Prime Minister, in his turn, stressed that the only way to resolve the conflict in Ukraine is "the way of diplomacy and dialogue." "Escalation of the conflict would be an alternative to the Minsk Agreement. This is certainly not the desire of France and Poland," said Valls.
