Soon, the Polish government may decide to provide Ukraine with lethal weapons. It was stated by Mieczyslaw Gocul, the Chief of General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces during his visit to Lithuania, Joinfo.ua reports.
According to Gocul, Poland would like to follow the example of Lithuania, which, according to him, is already providing weapons to Ukraine.
"The final decision will be made in the near future, but right now I want to note – along with NATO countries, along with the United States and other countries, we will continue to train the Ukrainian soldiers. The decision on arms granting is political, but from a military point of view, we are ready to cooperate," said the Chief of Polish General Staff.
Earlier it was reported that Polish experts will train the Ukrainian soldiers and officers at the military firing rages Desna and Yavoriv.
This statement was made by General Boguslaw Pacek, NATO's adviser for military education reform in Ukraine.
He noted that Poland would make the final decision in March. According to him, Ukraine has requested NATO countries to help in military training and Warsaw is likely to agree to participate in this.
