On Wednesday, Dmitry Peskov, press secretary for President Vladimir Putin, said that the new sanctions against Russia imposed by the U.S. would not affect the position of the Russian Federation, Joinfo.ua reports.
"Sanctions are a double-edged weapon, and, certainly, they discomfort the Russian Federation. But they also harm the economy and businesses of the country that is playing these sanction games. These sanctions do not bring anything good for the world economy," Peskov told the reporters of RIA Novosti.
"And most importantly, no sanctions can force Russia to make some changes to its consistent policy in international affairs," Peskov said.
It should be recalled that the U.S. and the EU imposed sanctions against Russian politicians and businessmen.
