Great Britain speaks in favor of sanctions extension against Russia

On March 3, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond made a statement about the need to extend the sanctions against Russia.

"We need to continue the third package of sanctions until the end of December … Even if all the main points are met, we believe that a third round of sanctions is needed to be extended until the end of the year, so that we have a tool to ensure compliance with commitments," Hammond said.

According to him, the sanctions can be suspended, but only if the goals are achieved.

Earlier, France followed by Germany and Sweden announced the possibility of introducing new punitive measures in respect of Russia, despite the fact that the EU continues to seek diplomatic solutions to the conflict around Ukraine.
