During a telephone conversation with President of the European Council Donald Tusk, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called on the EU to refrain from premature optimism and continue the policy of influence on the parties of the Minsk agreements.

The interlocutors discussed the situation in the Donbas and the execution status of the Minsk agreements.

"Poroshenko called on the EU to refrain from premature optimism and to continue the policy of influencing the parties of the Minsk agreements for the full implementation of their obligations," the statement reads.

President of Ukraine thanked Tusk for his participation in the March of Dignity held in Kyiv on February 22 that has become a symbol of support for Ukraine from the part of the European Union. Donald Tusk noted the critical importance of this event for the EU and for him personally.

The parties also discussed the possibility of EU-Ukraine Summit in Kyiv in late April. They agreed to continue the dialogue at the end of this week.
