Putin is a ‘naked king’ − Khodorkovsky

Mikhail Khodorkovsky believes that it is a sunset of Putin"s power, but the finale of his presidency, which began in 1999, can be painful and dangerous for both the West and Russia.

Speaking at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London, former Russian oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky, said that the era of Vladimir Putin was coming to an end, and urged the West to strengthen ties with Russian opposition. "Putin with bare chest isn't a mighty leader: He is a naked king," Reuters quotes Khodorkovsky.

Speaking about the foreign policy doctrine of Russian President, Khodorkovsky assures that Putin"s ultimate goals extend much farther than it seems. "Putin does not need Donbas. He wants to determine the fate of the world at talks with a U.S. President," he explained. Russian president would like to negotiate with the United States to return to the old system, when the world was divided into zones of influence of the superpowers. "When you cannot interfere in someone else's zone. Not even to mention internal politics," Khodorkovsky said.
