UN increases humanitarian aid for people in Donbas

The United Nations increases the size of humanitarian aid for the people of Donbas up to 316 million dollars in 2015. The reason for this is the catastrophic situation in Debaltseve, where the locals need urgent assistance, Joinfo.ua informs with reference to the report of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Today in Kyiv, the UN will present a revised assistance plan for Ukraine, which had previously designed to provide $ 189 million assistance.

The United Nations explained increasing the amount of assistance to the Ukrainian population by the growing conflict in the country.

The report notes that civilians in Debaltseve need urgent assistance. According to the UN estimates, it is necessary to provide food, non-food products and medical care for more than five thousand civilians in Debaltseve.

Previously, the United Nations announced that the official data on the number of dead and wounded in the Donbas conflict were inaccurate.
