Nadiya Savchenko refuses to give up hunger strike

The Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, illegally detained in the Russian prison, said she would continue the hunger strike. Her arrest was extended until May 13.

The Moscow's Basmanny Court extended the arrest of the Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko until May 13, Joinfo.ua reports.

"I will continue the hunger strike, today is the 60th day. I will continue the hunger strike until I return to Ukraine, from where I was kidnapped, or until my death in Russia," Savchenko said.

She strongly rejects all allegations brought against her.

"This stuffed circus must be ended. I owe nothing to the Russian people. What I owe to the Ukrainians is my business and I will cope with it when I get back," Savchenko added.

It should be recalled that 59 days passed since Nadiya Savchenko has been on the hunger strike in the Russian prison in protest against her illegal detention. Human rights activists are concerned about the state of her health.
