Russian President Vladimir Putin has become more odious, especially in the minds of people in Europe and the United States. It is evidenced by the opinion poll, the results of which were published by the authoritative sociological center Pew in the United States, Joinfo.ua reports.
"Majorities or pluralities in 25 of the 44 countries surveyed say they lack confidence in Putin to do the right thing in world affairs," the results of the survey state.
"Across the 44 countries surveyed, a median percentage of 43% have unfavorable opinions of Russia, compared with 34% who are positive," sociologists say.
Negative attitude to Russia is most clearly seen in the EU countries. At the moment, six citizens out of 10 from Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, France and the UK disapprove Russia.
Besides, Russia is very unpopular in the Middle East, where more than half of the respondents speak negatively about Russia. For example, 7 citizens out of 10 in Jordan, Turkey and Egypt dislike Russia.
At the same time, the latest opinion poll in Russia showed that despite financial problems because of the sanctions, the Russians continue to trust the government, believing that it is leading the people the right way.
According to the results of another poll conducted in Russia, more than half of the respondents in the Russian Federation believe that the conflict in the Donbas is a civil war that occurred "because of the seizure of power by the junta."
