Today the EU agreed upon new sanctions against Russia – new measures will relate to a list of individuals and entities against which it is planned to impose sanctions because of Russian aggression in Ukraine, reports Joinfo.ua.
Western diplomats report that the new sanctions will be applied to 19 persons, including five Russian citizens and nine organizations.
The names included into the sanctions list are still unknown. However, the news agency Reuters writes that none of the individuals and entities is "high-ranking or distinguished."
EU foreign ministers will approve the list on February 9 at the Congress in Brussels.
Earlier it was reported that the new sanctions against Russia discussed by the European Union were aimed at affecting high-ranking Russian officials, in particular, deputies and deputy ministers.
According to the German news agency DPA, the EU intended to discuss expansion of the sanctions list with five citizens of Russia and "14 Ukrainian separatists".
