Patriarch Kirill of Moscow allows militants attend church with guns

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow opens a new and unexpected facet of Orthodoxy. It turns out that it is allowed to attend churches with weapon but only for the "defenders of the Motherland".

The Patriarch of Moscow assigned the militants terrorizing the Donbas to them too, Joinfo.ua informs.

The innovations in the Orthodox Church of Moscow were announced by the Russian Deacon Andrei Kuraev in the social network Facebook, commenting on the story of Metropolitan Hilarion about the militants coming to the Cathedral with arms and demanding to marry them. How can we talk about preparation and catechesis here?"

At the previous Plenum of the Catholic Presence, where there was discussed the issue of preparing people for the sacraments, Metropolitan Hilarion said that the newlyweds Sharnir and Rita married in the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral (Donetsk, Ukraine) and the bride was armed.

Earlier even officers and princes handed over weapons at the entrance to the temple, says Kuraev.

But this time, the Patriarch said that the defenders of the Motherland should always be with weapon, and therefore nothing can be done.

"It is difficult to draw the line between shepherding and politics," the Deacon concluded.
