Russians offer to free Savchenko in exchange for sanctions lifting

During the informal consultations in Strasbourg, the Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) announced its conditions on which it is ready to release Nadiya Savchenko, a political hostage held in Russia.

"The Russians suggest that they release Savchenko (and maybe a few more Ukrainian hostages held in Russia) in exchange for a full restoration of the rights of Russia in the frames of the PACE," Ukrainian media reports.

Moreover, the Russian delegation expects that the first step will be made by the Ukrainian side.

So far, the Ukrainian deputies refuse. However, experts say, there is extremely high chance that the blackmail of the Russian Federation can be successful.

Earlier, it was reported that tonight, Russian delegation to the PACE suddenly said that it supports the decision on release of Nadiya Savchenko, who is now Putin's personal hostage.
