Nadiya Savchenko to continue hunger strike

Mark Feygin, a lawyer of Nadiya Savchenko, the Ukrainian pilot and political prisoner in Russia managed to arrange a meeting with his client.

Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko illegally detained in Russia was able to meet with her lawyer. During the New Year holidays she was refused to meet with the defenders.

Finally Mark Feygin was able to talk to Nadiya. After the meeting in social network he reported disappointing news – Nadiya is not going to give up the hunger strike. During this time – a month of the hunger strike – she has lost 12 kilograms, but she has not lost firmness and courage, her lawyer Nikolai Polozov says. He published her letter about the causes of her hunger strike.

"Through my protest – my hunger – I wish to achieve common sense from the Russian authorities and an awakening of conscience from the Russian Investigative Committee. There is irrefutable evidence of my lack of involvement and innocence of the crimes they accuse me of.  What else do they need?" Nadiya writes.

Nadiya Savchenko announced a hunger strike on December 15 due to the fact that she was refused to be provided with medical treatment in the Moscow detention center.

Nadiya Savchenko was taken hostage by the militants of the LPR (Luhansk People's Republic) and kidnapped from Ukraine last June. She is accused of involvement in the murder of the Russian camera crew in the Luhansk region, but Savchenko does not admit her guilt. Moreover, the pilot's lawyers have provided evidence that she was captured earlier than the journalists were killed. However, it was not taken into account by the court.
