German weekly Der Spiegel has published the latest data on the causes of the Boeing 777 crash, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the publication.
The journalists managed to recreate the path of the Russian convoy, carrying the Buk anti-missile system seen in the east of Ukraine last July.
It was found out that July 17 that is the day of firing the Malaysian aircraft, the complex was near the Snizhne City, not far from the crash site. This is the territory controlled by the insurgents. The report refers to the testimony of witnesses who saw the launch of the missile.
As stated in the document, Buk had to be maintained by the Russian officers. The anti-aircraft system is too complicated to maintain for the people without proper training.
Experts the authors of the report refer to, reject the theory that the Malaysian aircraft could be shot down by the Ukrainian fighter. On the remains of the plane there were traces typical for the explosion of the air-to-surface missile. If the aircraft had been hit by a missile from the fighter, the remains would have looked completely different.
The investigation team, which has prepared the report, includes the journalists of the German weekly Der Spiegel and the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, helped by the Correctiv international investigative organization.
It is to be recalled, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the results of the aircraft crash investigation has not yet been made public, but they are almost ready.
