Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko has been on a hunger strike for 25 days already, Nikolay Polozov, the defender of Nadiya wrote in his Twitter.
"Today is the 25th day of hunger strike of the people's deputy, PACE delegate, prisoner of war, and political prisoner Nadiya Savchenko," the attorney wrote.
Before Christmas, another Savchenko's defender Mark Feygin offered the Russian Orthodox Church to contribute to the liberation of women on his Twitter.
"Why would not the defenders of "Russian peace" release orthodox Nadiya Savchenko before the holy Christmas? Why would not the Russian Orthodox Church stand up for a Christian Savchenko on the eve of the Orthodox Christmas?" Feygin wrote.
December 15, Savchenko went on a hunger strike in protest at the refusal to provide her with medical treatment.
During one week Savchenko lost 5 kilograms, Mark Feygin states.
December 22, the Basmanny Court of Moscow had a meeting which resulted in legitimation of Savchenko's detention. After that the Ukrainian pilot refused to stop the hunger strike.
Until January 12 the attorneys will not be able to visit Savchenko in the detention center due to the prolonged New Year holidays in Russia.
