Grybauskaite refuses to visit Putin

It is reported by Joinfo.ua referring to the statement of Modestas Naudzius, the Press Secretary of Grybauskaite.

"The invitation is received. The President does not intend to attend the event," he said on Tuesday.

It is known that the presidents of Lithuania did not participate in the celebrations of the Soviet victory over Germany nor five neither ten years ago. At the same time the heads of other Baltic States sometimes accept the invitation from the Russian Federation.

Dalia Grybauskaite is known for making extremely harsh statements against the Russian authorities and supports Ukraine. In particular, she stood for providing Ukraine with military assistance from the European Union. Recently in the European Parliament some unknown have created provocation against Grybauskaite – all the members of the European Parliament received English translation of Red Dalia by Ruta Yanutene (a provocative biography of Lithuanian President) in their mailboxes.

It was previously reported that U.S. President Barack Obama also refused to visit Moscow to celebrate the victory of the Soviet Union.
