Poroshenko and Putin agreed on dates for contact group meetings in Minsk

During the telephone conference Petro Poroshenko, Vladimir Putin, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande have agreed on the upcoming meeting in Minsk. The heads of the states appointed two dates for contact group meetings.

The press service of Petro Poroshenko said that the trilateral meeting of the contact group in Minsk to be held this week on Wednesday and Friday, informs Joinfo.ua.

"The parties have emphasized the necessity of fulfilling all items of the Minsk agreements, namely the ceasefire, pullback to the delimitation line laid down in the Memorandum of September 19, withdrawal of troops and heavy armament, as well as immediate liberation of all hostages," the press-service informs.

Also, according to the Presidential Administration, Poroshenko stressed the need for early release of the prisoner Nadiya Savchenko.

The leaders of four countries have agreed to continue holding consultations over the phone in a few days.

It is to be recalled that the next round of Minsk negotiations in to be held on December 9, but the militants insisted on the date of December 12. As a result, the agreement was not reached.
