According to the foreign press, six armed militants in the Pakistani army uniform drove up to the school on motorcycles and shot the guards. Then the gunmen forced the students to come into the school and opened fire on police and military arriving to the scene, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the television channel Geo TV.
In the school there were about ten militants and about 500 students and teachers, according to preliminary data, 84 people were killed and hundreds more were injured. Among the victims there were dozens of children.
According to data collected by the police, the militants, who broke into the school, were tied with suicide belts, armed with grenades and automatic weapons.
The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan terrorist group has already taken responsibility for what is happening. So far, the militants did not put forward any demands. According to their representative, it is a response to the "Zarb-e-Azb" ("smashing blow") special operation carried out by the Pakistani military in North Waziristan. Back then the soldiers managed to destroy more than 1,200 militants.
