President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott met with members of the Australian working group investigating the circumstances of the MH-17 crash. President Poroshenko personally thanked the experts, joinfo.ua reports with reference to the press service of the Presidential Administration.
"I am grateful to the members of the Australian group who have been working in extreme and dangerous conditions," he said. In this case, Poroshenko said that Ukraine would further facilitate immediate, comprehensive and open international investigation into the tragedy.
"We provide all the necessary technical equipment for the investigation," he said.
According to Petro Poroshenko, the preliminary results of the investigation confirmed that the plane had been shot down by the Russian missile.
"Investigation data indicates that the plane has been shot down by the missile system "Buk-M", which had been delivered from Russia together with the crew of the missile system," the head of the state said.
Tony Abbott in turn said, "In the morning of July 17, MH-17 aircraft was shot down by the militants supported by Russia." He thanked the Australian group for the prompt and efficient operation. Prime Minister Abbott also thanked the Ukrainian government for the work organization of the Australian experts.
Poroshenko noted that DPR and LPR must be recognized as terrorist organizations.
In turn, Special Representative of the Australian Prime Minister Air Chief Marshal Allan Grant Houston, who arrived to Ukraine right after the crash, thanked Petro Poroshenko for his assistance and cooperation in the course of the investigation.
"I would like to express gratitude for cooperation at all governmental levels in the process of organizing the investigation," he said.
Marshal Houston has noted friendly attitude and solidarity of the Ukrainian side. He wished Ukraine success in overcoming the existing challenges.
