According to Grushko, today there is no reason to deploy additional NATO forces in these regions, increase military exercises and strengthen military groups.
Permanent representative believes that the Alliance is using the conflict situation in Ukraine to prove the relevancy of the Alliance, to revive it, and to increase military activity and military expanses, the Russia media reports.
As previously reported, the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance would increase its presence on the eastern borders. He also said that NATO would not provide any guarantees to the Russian side about the non-entry of Ukraine into the Alliance, because it interferes with the basic principles of the Organization.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General also said that Ukraine rejected the non-aligned status and if it decided to apply for membership in NATO, it would be considered.
