Libya about to collapse, Italy prepares to send troops

Paolo Gentiloni is known for being a supporter of pacifism and disarmament, joinfo.ua reports.

At the same time, he believes that if the situation in Libya is out of control so that it will start peacekeeping operation under UN auspices, Italy will take part in it.

The Minister is sure that in any case such measures must be preceded by the start of negotiations on the new election.

"In the absence of a government of "wise men", sending troops in would also risk worsening the situation. We"re working on it with the countries of the region and with the United Nations," said Gentiloni.

The Minister noted that Italy has no regrets about the fall of the Gaddafi regime. However, at the same time, the country does not intend to delegate the power to resolve the conflict to Americans, because Libya is important for Italy because of a large number of factors. That is why Italy does not intend to submit the partition of Libya and will participate in the negotiation process.

Earlier it was reported that the Libyan Supreme Court declared internationally recognized Libyan Parliament as unconstitutional.

Elected parliament of Libya, the House of Representatives, works in the city of Tobruk in the east of the country after militants from the armed group from Misurata took control of the Libyan capital Tripoli. As a result, the North African country was actually divided.
