Summit of G20: Putin is ignored

"Attorney General George Brandis and Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove were seen a few meters from the runway, but they did not take a step forward Putin to greet him," informs joinfo.ua with reference to the Australian tabloid The Courier Mail.

At the same time, the publication emphasizes that Brandis joyfully rushed to Angela Merkel, who landed at the airport in Brisbane an hour later than Putin, and later greeted Chinese President Xi Jinping.

However, Putin was not left in the cold: he had to be content with handshakes of some Australian officials, including Assistant Secretary of Defence Robert Stewart and Governor of Queensland Paul de Jersey.

Meanwhile, the journalists say that departing from the airport Putin had the longest cortege: five cars longer than the cortege of British Prime Minister David Cameron, and seven cars longer than Australian Tony Abbott"s one.

Earlier, it was reported that Australian Prime Minister accused Putin of trying to recreate the "lost glories of tsarism".
