On Sunday two F-18 fighter jets attacked the positions of jihadists near the town of Fallujah, about 70 kilometers west of Baghdad, reports Defense Minister of Canada, Robert Douglas Nicholson.
According to him, the military operation took about four hours, and then fighters returned to the base in Kuwait without incidents, writes DW.
The head of the Canadian Defense Ministry plans to talk in detail on losses caused by the IS attack fighters on Tuesday, reports AFP. Before the operation, the Canadian Air Force was carrying out reconnaissance flights for two days.
The Parliament of Canada has approved the country's participation in the US-led military operation against the IS in early October. The mandate is given for six months.
