France holds talks on Nagorno-Karabakh’s fate

October 27, French President Francois Hollande will host Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan to discuss the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh.

French officials said that Hollande would meet individually with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and President IIham Aliyev of Azerbaijan in Paris.

According to the Office of the President of Armenia, still Sargsyan and Aliyev will hold bilateral talks later.

In August, there was an aggravation of the situation between Armenian forces and Azerbaijani troops in Nagorno-Karabakh. More than 20 soldiers were killed there during this period.

Baku and Yerevan have territorial disagreements over Nagorno-Karabakh since the dissolution of the USSR. With the support of Armenia, separatists seized this region of Azerbaijan during the war in the early 1990s.
