On Thursday, President of Zambia Michael Sata was hospitalized in one of the clinics in New York, said the deputy head of the metropolis police department Kim Royster.
She did not specify the reasons for hospitalization of the president, as well as refrained from making any comments about his current state of health.
According to Royster, 77-year-old Sata came to New York to participate in the general debate of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly. His speech at the General Assembly was scheduled for last Wednesday, but it was called off.
Royster said, that on Thursday, September 25, the President of Zambia was treated by the doctors of the State Department in his hotel room. Later, Sata was sent to the hospital.
