The Ukraine Freedom Support Act of 2014 is a bill that provides Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova with the status of the main allies of the United States without the Alliance membership. Ukraine, NATO, and the United States are ready to mobilize all the efforts to isolate Russia. It was reported by the President of the United States Barack Obama.
The above bill was developed by the US Senators Bob Corker and Robert Menendez. It provides Ukraine with nonmilitary and military aid, as well as involves the sanctions expansion against the Russian Federation. According to the bill, the restrictions and prohibitions may be extended in regard to the financial, defense and energy sectors of Russia.
If the bill is adopted, the American leader will be empowered to provide the Ukrainian state with military aid. The bill allows allotting $ 350 million for implementing the above activities. It is to be recalled that on September 18 the visit of Petro Poroshenko in the United States starts.
Thus, NATO and Ukraine can unite and become allies without Ukraine joining the Alliance. The bill also includes the creation of a plan to provide Ukraine with energy assistance.
