Today, the 70-th session of the UN General Assembly begins its work in New York. It is expected that it will be visited by the Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is stated in the schedule of the session on the official website of the United Nations, Joinfo.ua reports.

According to the schedule of the program, the opening of the 70th session will take place September 15. And the first meeting of the General Committee will be held tomorrow.

On September 25-27, there will be held the UN summit for harmonizing the actions of nations in the field of development for the period after 2015.

In late September, Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to speak at the UN General Assembly session on the issues of the world economy, the situation in Ukraine, and frequent, in his opinion, abuse of the mechanism of sanctions, and urgent issue of the Siberian situation.

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Putin’s speech will raise such issues as the fragmentation of the world economy due to the delay of the negotiations on flexibility of new approaches to new areas of technology and the economic relations of the country by the WTO .

“The President will emphasize the current crises of Syria and Ukraine, too. All this is the consequences of system errors in world politics and attempts to sabotage the formation of a polycentric world,” Lavrov added.
