A presidential candidate Hillary Clinton claimed that Russia, China, Iran and North Korea financed hacker attacks on the U.S. institutions thus posing a serious threat to the U.S. security and business. She made such a statement during her campaign tour in Iowa, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Reuters.
“It’s not only the Chinese. We know that other governments – Russia, North Korea, Iran – have either directly or indirectly sponsored hacking,” she said.
Hillary Clinton said that the U.S. authorities had not done enough to protect the public and commercial information.
“We worry about terrorist organizations getting access to the capacity,” she added.
“The United States, both our government and the private sector, have to recognize this is a serious threat,” she said. “We’ve been trying to get a good plan going forward. We’re making a little bit of progress on that in the Congress. For me, it’s not enough.”
