FBI detains Russian spy

Federal prosecutors in the United States announced the suspicion against three Russians who are suspected of setting up an international espionage organization with headquarters in New York.

According to Joinfo.ua, the American service confirmed that on Monday there were accused three Russian citizens, namely Yevgeny Buryakov, Igor Sporyshev and Victor Poddubnyi. The U.S. prosecutors allege Buryakov started working as an undercover agent for Moscow's SVR foreign intelligence agency in New York.

The statement released by law enforcement agencies in New York says that Buryakov was arrested on Monday and, according to the Ministry of Justice, two other defendants left the United States. According to the FBI data, they "were protected by diplomatic immunity and have since left the United States, so have not been arrested". They are charged in absentia.
