Ukrainian pilot, MP and member of the PACE Nadiya Savchenko appeared today at the hearing in the city court of Donetsk town, Rostov region of Russia, her lawyer Mark Feigin wrote in Twitter, Joinfo.ua reports.
Maria, Nadiya’s mother, was present at the hearing. On the judge’s question whether or not she will testify, the defense said ‘no’.
Last week, the Donetsk town court of the Rostov region began the hearing on the merits involving a panel of three judges. At the first hearing on September 22 Nadiya Savchenko announced its intention to give testimony on a lie detector.
Yesterday in the Russian Rostov-on-Don, activists held a rally demanding to release Nadiya Savchenko. About 15 people called for the release not only Savchenko, but all the other political prisoners.
Russian prosecutors announced the indictment, according to which Nadiya can be sentenced for 25 years.
