The Botanist Pub and The Trading House in Bank, London, are randomly awarding customers a drink of their choice (gin!) as well as flowers, posh Elizabeth Shaw chocolates and cocktail masterclasses, Metro repots.

Blue Monday is a date every January when experts calculate that a majority of the population will be feeling their most miserable. This is due to a number of factors including cold weather, low motivation, the post-Christmas slump and other factors.

They are also giving customers two gin drinks for the price of one throughout all of January and are holding a gin festival with gin sampling on January 31.

Gin brands include Mason’s Dry Yorkshire Gin, Poetic Licence Gin, Langley’s Gin, William Chase GB Gin and The Trading House’s own handmade gin with botanicals including green tea, elderflower, rowan berries, rose hips and infused with natural London water. Both the Botanist and The Trading House are specialists in botanical cocktails alongside deli, BBQ and rotisserie food and live music.

Natasha Waterfield, Head of HR at The New World Trading Company said: ‘We know that January can be a particularly depressing month, which is why we’re determined to lift our customers’ spirits.

‘Through carrying out random acts of kindness, we’re not only working to keep our guests happy, but encouraging them to pass on good deeds to their friends and family.’
