The 49th Russian humanitarian convoy departed from the EMERCOM center in Rostov region on February 18, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to TASS.
“More than 100 trucks left today to the Russian-Ukrainian border. They carry more than 1000 tons of relief goods, including food for the inhabitants of Donetsk and Lugansk regions: canned food, flour, sugar, cereals, educational literature and fire-fighting equipment “, – the representative of the ministry said.
The Ministry said that the convoy has divided into two on the route: one of them arrived at the border checkpoint Donetsk, the second – on Matveyev-Kurgan. After that, more than 100 cars continued to move in the unloading points Donetsk and Lugansk regions, according to EMERCOM.
“All cargo passed customs clearance in strict accordance with international law”, – said in the MOE.
The Russian ministry stressed that all customs procedures at border crossing points were made in the presence of representatives of the customs and border services of Ukraine. Trucks stopped at the checkpoint with the rear canopy body open, cargo and the supporting documents were checked.
It should be noted that both of this checkpoints are located on the uncontrolled by Ukraine area of the state border, which means that Ukrainian border guards and customs service could not check the cargo in the Russian trucks. Usually, after such deliveries illegal armed groups in Donbas significally increase shelling on the positions of the forces of Anti-Terrorist Operation.
