Head of the Moscow-based Yandex press service Asya Melkumova says that representatives of the SBU Security Service of Ukraine are now raiding Yandex.Ukraine’s Kyiv and Odesa offices, according to UNIAN.
“Representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine are now in our offices in Kyiv and Odesa. We do not yet have information about the reasons for today’s SBU operation. Lawyers are now heading to our offices. We are ready to provide required information to the authorities in the framework of legal procedures,” Melkumova said.
SBU press secretary Olena Hitlyanska has also confirmed information that the SBU came to search Yandex’s Ukrainian offices. According to her, the search is conducted under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason.
It should be recalled that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree greenlighting a new set of sanctions against Russia, which include blocking access to Russian-based social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki, as well as Yandex online services. The initiator of the Yandex ban was the Security Service of Ukraine.
On May 17, the presidential decree came into force.
On May 18, Yandex’s accounts were blocked in Ukraine.
Russia’s hybrid military forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 48 times in the past 24 hours with seven Ukrainian soldiers reported as wounded in action, according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters, Joinfo.com reports with reference to UNIAN.
The Mariupol sector: 20 enemy attacks were recorded. After dark, the militants fired 120mm mortars twice on the Ukrainian positions near the town of Krasnohorivka. The Ukrainian soldiers near the town of Maryinka and the village of Chermalyk came under fire from 82mm mortars. In addition, the invaders repeatedly used grenade launchers of various modifications, heavy machine guns and various systems of small arms against the Ukrainian defenders near villages of Shyrokyne, Vodiane, Pavlopil, Hnutove, and Novotroyitske.
The Donetsk sector: until midnight, the Russian occupation forces most often fired at the Ukrainian fortified positions in the vicinity of the town of Avdiyivka, using grenade launchers and small arms, as well as occasionally 82mm mortars. The Russian proxies in areas close to the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk also fired grenade launchers on the Ukrainian positions stationed near the village of Pisky. The invaders located on the outskirts of the temporarily occupied town of Horlivka once again opened fire from infantry fighting vehicles and light infantry weapons on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Zaitseve. In total, 18 enemy attacks were recorded in this sector.
The Luhansk sector: 10 instances of militant shelling were recorded there in the past day, half of them happened after dark. The Ukrainian defenders near the villages of Katerynivka and Krymske were attacked with the use of 82mm mortars and grenade launchers. The militants also resorted to armed provocations, using small arms near the villages of Valuiske and Donetskiy. Furthermore, late at night, the enemy attacked ATO forces from heavy machine guns and a heavy anti-tank grenade launcher near the village of Troyitske.
In Ukraine, all border crossing checkpoints of the State Border Guard Service are equipped with biometric control devices.
The Consular Service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine informed this on Twitter.
“The State Border Guard Service has equipped all checkpoints with biometric control devices,” the report said.
As reported, on May 26, President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on additional measures aimed to ensure unhindered implementation by Ukrainian citizens of the right to visa-free travel to the European Union.
