A total of 13 suspects were detained in Istanbul on June 30 over the deadly suicide attack at the city’s main Atatürk Airport on June 28 blamed on the Islamic State jihadist group, Hurriyet Daily News reports.
Police conducted raids on 16 different addresses in Istanbul in the morning hours, detaining 13 suspects, including three foreign nationals, during the operation.
The death toll in the attack has risen to 43, Turkish Interior Minister Efkan Ala announced on June 30.
The minister said 19 of the victims were foreign nationals.
Ala also added that one of the suicide bombers had been identified, noting that the evidence pointed at ISIL as the group responsible for the attack.
